1. Who this policy covers

This policy describes the Listen Your Guide website, the Android guide application and the Android listener application. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@listenyourguide.com.

2. Website data

This website is delivered as a static site. It does not include advertising trackers, behavioural analytics or tracking cookies. Standard server logs may record technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested page and request time for security, reliability and abuse prevention.

When you select an email link, your chosen email provider processes the message you send to us. We use that information only to answer your request and manage any early-access communication you asked for.

3. Listener app

The listener app is designed for account-free use. It does not request your name, email address, phone number, camera or location.

• It creates a random installation identity and converts it into a one-way technical identifier.
• That identifier is used to prevent duplicate credit use and support the 12-hour reconnection window with the same guide.
• The app exchanges connection and playback-status information over the local tour network.
• Live voice is received directly from the guide on the local network and is not uploaded to our web servers.

4. Guide app and account data

The guide app requires an account created by the service administrator. We process the information needed to authenticate and operate that account, including:

• guide name and email address;
• authentication and device-session records;
• credit balances and credit ledger entries;
• tour-session, anonymous admission and 12-hour entitlement records;
• security and administrative audit records.

Passwords are not stored in readable form. Access and refresh credentials are used to keep guide sessions authenticated.

5. Diagnostics

The guide app can create a technical diagnostic report. Sharing is initiated by the guide. The report is designed not to contain audio, passwords, access tokens, guide email addresses or tourist identifiers. It can include app version, device model, network status, local IP address, connection counters, packet statistics and technical event codes.

6. Audio

Guide voice audio travels on the local Wi-Fi network to approved listeners. Listen Your Guide web servers do not receive or store the live audio stream.

7. Why data is used

We use the limited data described above to provide account access, operate the guide credit system, authorize listener connections, support reconnection, protect the service against abuse, diagnose technical problems and meet applicable record-keeping obligations.

8. Retention and deletion

Account, credit, security and audit records are kept only for as long as needed for service operation, fraud prevention, support and applicable legal obligations. You may ask about your information, request correction or request deletion where applicable by emailing info@listenyourguide.com.

9. Security

Guide account communication with the API uses HTTPS. Authentication credentials are protected on supported Android devices using Android security storage. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and the service is continually reviewed as it moves toward public release.

10. Children

Listen Your Guide is a tool for professionally managed tours and is not directed to children as an online service. The listener app does not ask guests to create accounts or submit personal profiles.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as the applications and public release process evolve. The date at the top of this page will identify the latest version.
